We had a girl day! Lily and I have had a great week and bonded a lot, but I think we are ready to get the boys back. Lily made them a welcome home cake. I really missed Noah when I had to mow the lawn! I hope he pays me because it was hard work.
So it turns out we were lucky last night. With Nathan gone, I often say bad things happen (dogs vomit, ceilings crack, etc.) but last night a bad storm came through the Quad Cities and we did not lose power! Mike and Alex were over, and Mike helped me set up the generator just in case (thanks Mike!) He also comforted Lily who was losing it without her Papa. Lily and Mya at the pool. Lily had fun hanging out with Mya all day, and I got some housework done. Now we are waiting out a storm.
I got a call from Noah this morning! He sounded very happy and excited. He was walking with a friend after breakfast. Today they are taking a field trip to the Science amd Technology Museum. Happy Birthday to Grandma Tackett! Lily enjoyed talking to her Grandma today about shopping and dresses. Noah checked into Occidental College for his STEM conference after touring Hollywood with Nathan. Lily and I took Lola to Pet Smart and the dog park. Then we went to a campground near our house to hang out with friends and enjoy a campfire.
The boys are off to LA! Noah excited for a STEM conference, and Nathan excited for a week off at the ocean! Lily and I started our girls week with shopping and ice cream!
More Kayaking! I’ve never kayaked so much in my life. I think it’s T4’s new favorite hobby.
After work Nathan took Noah to baseball practice and then met me at a lake to kayak. Kayaking is our new favorite activity. Then we went swimming. What a fun way to finish the day. Summer rules!
Lola escaped out of the backyard today. After 20 minutes of searching for her, Noah found her in the neighborhood. Bad, bad dog. Glad we found her though…we are kind of attached.
We dog sat Luca, Mike and Alex’s puppy, over the weekend. We forgot how much energy puppies have. He was very good and did not go to the bathroom in the house. He liked waking up early with me and tried to play with Lola She wasn’t so sure about him.
