Noah texted after his skiing trip that skiing is his “new favorite thing.” Apparently he is a natural and wants to hit the slopes again soon. Whew!!! While Noah went to his friend Zach’s house for a sleep over after skiing, Lily had her friend Mya over for a roller skating party and sleep over. The girls had a blast together and made costumes for roller skating:
Nathan and I dressed in 80’s garb (Nathan with a Miami Vice feel) for our friend Tegan’s 30th birthday party. Although we had more aches and pains roller skating for 3 hours at the age of 41 then we did in the 80’s…we still had a great time!
Sleep over fun:
Noah has been packed for a week for the 8th grade skiing trip to Galena, Illinois. He will board a bus for an hour and a half and then enjoy an entire day of skiing. Nathan and I are a little unsure of this side of parenting…letting your child go on a trip without you and try something that could result in injury. But Noah is 13 now, and I guess we have to trust him to be safe. Nathan did suggest he avoid doing anything that seems like a bad idea. Stay tuned…

Lots of studying going in these days! Spring semester started for me, and Nathan is studying to be a personal trainer.

Oh finally, the final day of Jenianuary! Jenianuary 24, 2015, was a beautiful sunny winter day. We started the day with a 7.5 mile run with Jenn Passman!
Then I picked the Indian restaurant for my birthday lunch (the kids love Indian food so they were very excited). Next we went ice skating with the figure skaters of the Quad Cities and Lily got a free lesson and learned a new spin move.
I brought 3 teams of 8 people to trivia to raise money for Noah’s baseball season. We didn’t win, but we had a great time. And we went dancing afterwards. All in all…a wonderful Jenianuary. Thank you for the calls and texts, family…and the wonderful presents. I was spiled once again but that is my lot in life as the youngest child.
We celebrated my birthday eve with Mike, Alex, and Butch at home. We played Harry Potter Scene It (my team with Nathan and Noah won!…amazing we beat (barely) Alex and Lily (Harry Potter fanatics), ate cake made my Nathan and Lily, and drank hot tea. It was a wild night for this nearly 41-year-old.
Mom, Michael Hutchence would have been 55 today. Can you believe it??
